The Disappearing Bike

"Hey you with the bike. Please move it away from the yellow platform," says the transit security. He was on the other side of the platform. I didn't want anymore attention from anybody. So I folded the bike and put on the quick rain cover. Now it looks like a regular luggage. So by the time the transit security came up to inspect tickets there was no bike nor lecture about safety.

A covered Brompton is easier to lug around inside offices, buildings, airports, cafes, restaurants, and public transport. I don't even bother bringing a lock anymore because it goes with me everywhere. So if you just want to get on with your day without being noticed that you are carrying an extraordinary bike then get the Brompton rain cover.

Stabilizing the B.A.W. cargo trailer

Most photos and videos about the B.A.W. trailer have bicycles without kick stand. So the bike is laid down on the left side with the trailer tongue below the bike or touching the ground first. But I found that a kick stand on bike plus a wooden block makes loading more stable. Be sure to load the trailer slowly as not to tip the bike.

What works for you?

Dog Beach in Del Mar,CA

One of  my favorite places along my bike commute.

Dog beach as they call it in Del Mar,CA is where dog owners take their dogs off leash near the water. On low tide, the beach is very spacious for dogs to run around and play.

Beach volleyball clinics or camps occur almost everyday in the afternoon. My neighbor is one of the instructors at this location. And yes, today they played beach volleyball in February.

The sunset at this location is spectacular!

Things I hauled on a 64A BAW Trailer

Some of the things I hauled to the storage unit.I felt I worked less in terms of lifting. Granny gears came in very handy with heavy loads. I am not sure how I manage to fit all of this in a one car garage. I have too much stuff. I didn't even include the rest of the bikes and parts on this posting.

To make the trailer go in straight, I lift the bike's rear wheel.

It takes some imagination and cleverness to properly fit and secure unusual loads

Ivar shelves from Ikea. Easy to assemble, disassemble, and store

My Cruzbike Freerider before I piled tires and wheelsets around it. This front wheel drive recumbent bike is a great workout for the abs.

Vista Transit Center

Super bowl Sunday. As most fans enjoy the game in front of the TV. I am heading to Oceanside,CA via Sprinter light rail. I will ride near the Oceanside Pier then ride back home along the San Luis River multi-use recreational trail. I am so grateful for this beautiful day.
